In homage to the Alpine Corps , which in 2022 celebrates its 150th anniversary, the Caserta-based liqueur company Antica Distilleria Petrone has created a special edition of its renowned AmaRè , the liqueur obtained from the infusion of herbs and precious essences present in the eighteenth-century “Royal English Garden” of the Royal Palace of Caserta.

A label created specifically for the special anniversary of the Penne Nere will cover the bottle of AmaRè degli Alpini which contains the natural elixir obtained with camphor, lemongrass, bitter orange, camellia, chicory, fennel, myrtle berries, olive, bergamot and lemons.

“Since the Alpine Corps was born in Naples on October 15, 1872 with the signing of the Royal Decree that sanctioned the birth of the first Alpine Companies – says Andrea Petrone, manager of the Distillery – as a Campanian I felt a strong pride in dedicating our flagship liqueur to such an important anniversary”.

TASTING NOTES:
Dark amber in color with golden reflections. Austere, vertical, severe but balanced on the nose thanks to the addition of cane sugar. Soft, smooth on the palate with wild and perceptibly citrusy hints and a slightly bitter finish.

OUR ADVICE
Excellent digestive at the end of a meal, perfect neat or on the rocks, it should be served preferably chilled with a lemon or orange peel. AmaRè lends itself to various possibilities, its nature as a officinal bitter gives the bartender and mixologist various interpretations of the product.
